Biography

On Tuesday, August 15, 2012, God called Bertha to rest. Bertha was born May 22, 1943, to John Peter McGee and Ada Mae McCrady.

She was preceded in death by both of her parents; her husband, James; sisters, Shirley Crosby and Lillie Craine; son, Byron; daughter, LaDonna and granddaughter, Ashley.

She confessed Christ at an early age and continued to have an intimate relationship with Christ until her last days.

She married her "King", James A. Cummings, Sr. in 1963. Left to cherish her are her siblings, Elvester and Sam McGee, Carolyn Ford, Pam Morgan, Judy Robinson, Karen Williams and Linda Henderson; children, Teresa (Robert) Price, Eric Beasley, Monte, Jackie Brooks, James Jr., Mark (Dana) and Michael (KaTina). She also leaves 21 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren, and many, many "adopted" sons and daughters.

She worked at Parkview Hospital until they closed. Her hobbies included playing cards, cooking, spending time with family and talking on the phone to her "girlfriends". Bertha loved her family and friends and went to her grave professing her love for her kids and grandkids. She will surely be missed.
