Life Legacy
Alvin Carr was born on May 22, 1953 in Toledo, OH as the second child to the late Eugene Carr and (still living) Mother Ruby Carr. Alvin was educated through the Toledo Public School System and was employed at B & P Wrecking up until his retirement. Alvin met the love of his life, Serena, at the tender age of four, and they have been together for thirty nine years; and to the union they had two children.
Alvin loved being around his family and friends. His monthly routine for the summer was going to the park for family picnics. Alvin loved people and when he met people, you were then a part of his family. Alvin had two houses, the main house and the garage house. The garage was his other house because he loved to work on vehicles. He also loved working in his garden on a daily basis.
Alvin loved his children and his grandchildren. Alvin was a teacher, father, and a lecturer. he always had words of advice for his grandchildren and he taught them how to fix bikes, respect for others and how to earn an honest living.
Alvin was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Carr and he leaves to cherish, Serena Meredith; his mother, Ruby Carr; his children, Dione Meredith and Tiffany Meredith; grandchildrenm, Corey Allison Jr., Tionna Peavy, TyRon D'Antaye Carr, Deveney (Devadoo) Meredith; brothers, Larry (Lucy) Carr, Darrick Carr and Lawrence Carr; sisters, Jan Holloway, Brenda Carr, Karen Carr, Denise Carr and Desiree Carr; special cousin, Fred Brown, and adopted son, Orlandus Hearn. Alvin will be missed by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be held from 10 am to 11 am on Friday, May 6, 2011 at Blanchard-Strabler Funeral Home, where Funeral Services will follow at 11 a.m.
Burial at Historic Woodlawn Cemetery.
