Biography

We are celebrating the life of Kathy L. Overholt, who passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2010, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Toledo due to complications of cancer. Kathy was born March 12, 1964, in Toledo to Doris C. (Davis) Carter. The youngest of four children, Kathy attended Bedford and Dundee Schools. At the age of 21, Kathy became a mother and devoted her life to raising her children. She also worked hard as a server at The Ground Round for nearly 10 years and more recently with her Quimby's family for 3 years. Her two biggest passions in life were gardening and her family. She loved to sit outside in the sunshine next to her pond. Kathy had a heart full of love and cared deeply for ones she loved. She was especially excited when "Grammas Girl" Gracie Grace arrived. She spent the last 10 years with the love of her life and best friend, Kirk. Kathy will be greatly missed by her husband, Kirk; children, Jami (Josh) Nuhfer, James Ormiston II, Jacob Ormiston, Aaron Overholt and her only grandchild, Gracelyn. She is also survived by her mother, Doris C. Carter; sister, Val (Chris) Tubbs; brothers, Kim (Kimra) Wilkinson and David (Tanya) Wilkinson; numerous nieces and nephews, as well as many, many special friends. A celebration of her life will be held Monday, February 8, from 5-9 p.m. at Quimby's, 3536 W. Sterns Rd., Lambertville, MI 48144. Kathy's family would like to thank the staff of St. Annes Hospital, the HOA Cancer Center, Hospice of Northwest Ohio and a special thank you to her doctor, Dr. Kris Kostrzewski.
