Biography
Margaret P. Hamilton, age 88, was called home to be with the angels and saints on Monday, January 11, 2010, surrounded by her loving family. A humble and gentle woman, she was a homemaker and peacekeepter to all generations of her large family. She held a deep faith in her church and an ageless love for all. Known for her hospitality, she was an excellent cook, baker, artist, and gardener. Margaret was an advocate for the sacredness of life, and at her advanced age, she walked for the Leukemia Society in 2009.
She will be forever missed by her family; beloved brother, James A. Gorman; daughters, Winifred (Paul) Stewart, Mary (Tim) Mulcahy, Patricia (Bruce) Bayer, Anne Hamilton Neller, Margaret (Tim) O'Connell, Catherine (Tom) McCarthy,and Terese (Jim) Iannone; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Elizabeth (Michael) Pinkstaff and children, Nick and Julian, Mary (Dan) Devita and son, Anthony, Anna Neller and sons Ethan and Jacob, Kate Stewart, Julia Stewart, Bridget (Mitch) Burnside and daughter Mae, Tim Mulcahy, Maura Mulcahy, Patrick Mulcahy, Molly (Mike) Haller and daughter, Grace, Maggie O'Connell, Bernadette McCarthy, Gabrielle McCarthy, Kathleen McCarthy, Ami Iannone, Bernie Iannone, Eileen Iannone, and Susan Iannone.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Patrick and Winifred Gorman; beloved husband of 51 years, Bernard Joseph Hamilton; dear son, Bernard Joseph Hamilton, Jr., 3 sisters and 5 brothers.
Friends are invited to visit from 4pm to 9pm on Friday, January 15 with Rosary service to be held at 7pm at the funeral home. Mass of Resurrection will be held at 10:30am Saturday, January 16 at St. Pius X Catholic Church with burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to Heartbeat of Toledo or Cherry Street Mission.
